I am running 5.5 unltd on OS 9.2. I have a Webstar 4.5 (apache) front door that connects to a separate filemaker box via the web connector. For some reason calls to filemaker from browsers have started to produce an end-of-file error. It is intermittent, and possibly fixed by restarting the browser that is being used to access filemaker. May occur more with Firefox. I haven't done anything differently to/with the app or the databases, except that I increased the memory allocated to FM5.5u. Any thoughts?

Is it possible the FileMaker file has hit the 2 gigabyte limit? If so, FileMaker will soon overwrite itself.

John - Thanks for the response. None of my files are even close to that. Most are less than 50mb.

Hmmm?

There was an issue a while back with FileMaker 6.0 Unlimited crashing a lot (I realize you have version 5.5) that was fixed with an Updater. Do you have the current version? Check the Downloads section of the filemaker.com web site for the latest version.

About all I can offer is basic troubleshooting since I don't recongize any known issues. So, it would help if you posted the exact error message you are getting.

requests return an unexpected end-of-file error. I have isolated the problem to Windows machines running IE. The access and error logs aren't showing anything that looks funny to me. The same machines running firefox works fine.

The FMWSC log shows a bunch of stuff like this...
