Hammerton Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 My web server admin console is not working correctly. Even though I can access my data files using filemaker clients, iwp, and custom web publishing, the web server admin console shows nothing under published databases. Also, when I try to use the web server admin console to turn IWP on or off, it tells me to restart the web server and the wpengine, but when I do those things, it still tells me that I have to do those things, and the change I made does not register. Can anyone help me with this? Please?
Hammerton Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 Did already. No change. Though I am puzzled about a message I get after I uninstall v7 of the web pub eng. It says that it couldn't erase some files because they are either in use or shared with another app. I took great care to shut down all processes related to filemaker, but still I get this message. I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
Genx Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 (edited) Check your apache root folder (assuming thats what is supported by mac) -- see if the fmi folder is still there post uninstall. ... you are stopping all the relevant services before trying to uninstall yeh? Edited March 20, 2007 by Guest
Steven H. Blackwell Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Correct! it is very important that ALL the processes be stopped before do a remove or an install. This includes the helper daemon, the server daemon, web publishing, and apache. USe the Terminal to do this. Steven
Hammerton Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 Thanks OAM and GenxX. I'll have another go at it.
