Newbies davieboy Posted April 2, 2007 Newbies Posted April 2, 2007 I'm using FileMaker 7 Pro on a Mac, two Macs to be specific. I can open a database, named "Jobs" on the host computer just fine. I can open "Jobs" on a remote computer as the host (as the only one opening the database). If either computer attempts to open "Jobs" when the other computer has "Jobs" open already I get a "file not found" error. Network sharing is enabled and both users have full access priveledges. Thanks in advance for any help! Dave.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Are you attempting to open this thru the OS level file sharing? If so, you're getting the designed result. From within FileMaker Pro on the guest computer, go to File--> Open-->Open remote. You should see the Jobs file show up there. Steven
Newbies davieboy Posted April 3, 2007 Author Newbies Posted April 3, 2007 Unfortunately I am using File-->Open. When I try File-->Open Remote and enter the other mac's IP address I don't see any files. Typing in the file locations manually the machine doesn't find anything either. Thanks, Dave.
Newbies davieboy Posted April 3, 2007 Author Newbies Posted April 3, 2007 "Network Sharing" is On and "Don't display in Open Remote File dialog" is unchecked. Dave.
