mikemccloskey Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I have a situation in which I would like to add multipage PDFs into a filemaker record, then be able to view all pages. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I am using FMP 6 but could use 7 or 8. Thanks, Mike
Reed Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 With v6-v8, you can insert the pdf as a movie on Macs, then you will get quicktime controls to flip between pages. If you use v8.5, then you can use a web viewer to view pdf documents on both platforms. The files won't be in container fields in this case, but stored in some accessible location to a web viewer URL.
mikemccloskey Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 Thanks for the info. I tried saving pdf as a quicktime movie and then viewing it in FMP but did not like the results. I will look into the FMP 8 solution of viewing it as html. Thanks.
Reed Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 just to clarify... you don't save the pdf as a movie. you insert as quicktime in filemaker. The pdf file is still the same as the original and can be exported as such
