mf Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I tried to script adding a file to a container. I would like the script to open in a specific folder (based on a variable) and let the user pick the file. Unless I provide a filename in the variable, it seems that the File Insert command isn't happy... I know that when you have navigated once to the right location, FileMaker remembers where the last insert was done from. But I want to help the user by opening in a standard/calculated location every time. Can it be done? either with File Insert or another command that would set the path before I get to File Insert. Or anyone has a different approach to resolve this?
mf Posted May 16, 2007 Author Posted May 16, 2007 I was hopeful when I looked at File Import Folder, it has a way to specify a folder path, but does anyone know why it limits the types of files that can be imported (no doc, xls or pdf)? I guess it does not matter why if I don't end up using this method. It looks like I have to rethink how to get those files into the database altogether...
