Newbies BrianT Posted May 10, 2007 Newbies Posted May 10, 2007 Hi We are running FMS7.04 on an OSX 10.3.9 server with a dual IP address, so that we can access databases from the 2 networks that we we are using. We are a dual platform school running OSX 10.3.9 and Windows XP on the clients. When we go to open a remote file from the Macs it gives us the correct IP address for the server in the 'Hosts' window, however on the pc's it gives us the IP address of the other subnet, and we cannot access the files. I know that I can add the sever with the correct IP address to my favorites, but we have approx 1200 pupils who will need to do this, and I want to make it as simple as possible. Is there any way that I can set the default IP in filemaker server, so that it will default to the subnet I set it to?? Many Thanks
Ender Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 You should consider an opener file to access the hosted file. If you have the ability to push out files to your workstations(or have them download it), you then only need to distribute this file with the correct settings already embedded.
