I set up a field to always validate the field's data from a specific value list.

Now when I try to reopen the file, the file is stuck on that field, does not recognize any value that is entered, does not allow me to access "define database" to reset the validation of the field, save a copy of the file, or even close the file. The error message is "'FIELD' defined to require a value. Unable to access define database."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try deleting the record that's giving the validation error. Then get in and remove the validation.

Start looking for backup copies of the file, too, in case it's become damaged.
