Never ending import script

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I have a script that is triggered every night (using oAzium events) that deletes all records from a table and then imports data that exists in a table on our AS400. This script runs smoothly pretty much every night, but one morning last week, after users complained that FileMaker was really slow, I noticed that the script, which usually takes a few minutes to complete, was still running in the morning. I cancelled the script and then saw that there were 7 million records in the file when there should have been 250,000! The first 250,000 rows had data and the next 6.75 million were just blank. Needless to say, FileMaker was slow for everyone that morning since the script was slowing down the server. I restored the file to a previous copy and then that night, the same thing happened again! Again, I restored the file and it hasn't happened again since. Any ideas?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Have you looked at the file that is being imported, does it have anything strange about it (compared to other import files that work OK)?

It doesn't seem strange. The script actually imports records from other tables on the as400 and those seem to work fine. I should also point out that these tables are part of an application created by a third party.
