Newbies AtlasDB Posted June 19, 2007 Newbies Posted June 19, 2007 Hello, I got involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society the last two years, they have a program called Team in Training (TNT) and within this something called Hiking for a Cure. I was with a group of about 30 people that hiked the Grand Canyon this spring. I have seen people ask for a multiuser BlackJack game in the past. You now have an opportunity to play multiuser or solo BlackJack. The system will also help you learn how to play BlackJack, users can show and hide Card Count value for a deck of cards and the system also supplies users with Expert Advice on wether to take a hit, hold, or double down on a bet. You need FileMaker to connect to a live version of the Database hosted by http://www.dbdom.com . You will find the database here ec00222.dbdom.com/blackjack A small donation ( all personal info is kept private and will not be shared with other charities ) will allow you to bring the house home for yourself with your own copy of the database. Due to paying work, feature creep, etc I am getting this out a little late, my deadline to raise money for the Leukemia society is this Friday June 22nd. Thank You for any and all support, and I hope you enjoy the game. I think the interface could use some improvement. I have one or two places that the payoff is not working correctly but the errors are in the players favor. The networked version can take a moment to complete some operations. If you lose a hand the system purposely pauses a moment for you to look at the cards and then clears them. Michael Sclafani Features User Options - Card Counting - View Hand Totals - View / Hide buttons - Single / Casino Style Tables - Multi Deck Games - Most operations can be performed by key command - Private Table, send your friends the password and you can play together - Double Down a bet - Expert Advice Hit, Hold, or Double Down ( splitting of pairs not implemented ) - Chat with other players ( Casino Style table only ) - Play Single Table with no betting required - User can show/hide interface elements Rules - Hit on 16 Hold on 17 for the dealer - Double Down a bet and user only gets 1 card Limitations - users can not split when dealt matching cards - BlackJack on the deal does not pay double
Newbies AtlasDB Posted June 20, 2007 Author Newbies Posted June 20, 2007 A friend pointed out that some people may never work with Remote files. Select File > Open Remote Dialog Box Select View Favorite Hosts and then click the Add Button Enter the following ec00222.dbdom.com/blackjack in the Hosts Internet Address Click Save and you will be ready to go. It seems FM sometimes has an issue showing files in the Open Remote Dialog Box when you select a Remote Server. Closing the Dialog Box and selecting the Server you created earlier will usually take care of problem. I saw one player who used the name Jem had a game hang on a bad deal, I'd like to talk to you. I have not been able to replicate the problem I saw. Please use the Leave button when leaving a table, the Admin section will allow a Table Administrator to change a Game Status to "Game Over". Thanks, hope you enjoy the game. You can definitely become a better BlackJack player. There seems to be a bit of latency on the networked version, give the program a moment and it completes operations successfully. Please email me if you have a game hang up on you. Thanks Michael PS Don't forget for a small secure online $25 Donation to the Leukemia society you can get your own copy.
