Importing into FileMaker Pro 6 related files

Hi - I have been tasked to work with a custom designed FileMaker Pro 6 database with two files, one for contacts and one for organizations and both are related to each other.

I enter both contact and organization data in the Contacts file and the organization info is automatically entered in the Organizations file. I need to import into these files an Excel file where each record has both contact and organization info.

When I first made an import attempt. I discovered this was not easy. When I map the data between Excel and FM in FM, the organization fields are missing from the field list.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the documentation from the database designer on how to do an import with a setup like this, if there is one at all.

How does one do an import with a setup like this?

Thanks.
