Image Referencing in Mac OSX Tiger

I'm having a problem seeing images that have previously shown correctly.

I created a stand-alone database in FM6 Developer and retain that format to fit with some of the users who have older machines. Images are stored as relative references to a Photo Library folder. This has worked stably in several systems (Mac OS 9, OSX 10.1-10.4, Windows XP, etc). A user switching from Windows XP to Mac OSX 10.4 cannot view the images even though everything is in exactly the same relative position. Her system is exactly the same as one of mine, with the single exception that hers is an Intel Mac while mine is a Power PC Mac. She is using the actual CD-rom to install from that installs correctly on mine.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this should make a difference? Does the Intel Mac require absolute references for the images?
