ODBC connection times out

I am trying to connect from Windows XP machine to FMServer 8 advanced running on a different PC.

ODBC driver installed, xDBC plugin enabled, everything seems to be set correctly. However, when going to 'Test connection' or trying to browse for file, I get [datadirect][odbc sequelink driver][sequeLink client]TCP/IP error,connection timed out.

When run netstat on the server PC, I get port 2399 as listening.

Could it be that there are some firewalls blocking the connection? We have a separate department taking care of that so I have no idea what they block or how.

What error number does it tell you?

I should add: if it says error #2308 (I think), that is the error I received when my firewall was blocking port 2399.

There is no error #, just the 'connection timed out' notice
