Let me start by saying I know absolutely nothing about FileMaker. boohoo

I work in the IT dept and I have one user that has FileMaker. This is the first in the 8 years I've worked here that he's had a problem with it.

The issue is...he cannot open files that are stored on our server. It is not a "FM server" (we are not using server/client setup), just a windows server.

What supposed to happen is that when he opens the project it prompts for a password. IT will not do this. It will open FM, but hangs and never prompts for password. Actually ends up killing the ssytem and I have to power off.

However, I copied the files from the server to his hard drive and he can open them from there with no problems.

Any ideas what the issue is? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it did nto resolve.

He is using FM 5.5v2 on Windows 2000 pc.

I hope someone out there can help me!
