Newbies macuser101 Posted August 17, 2007 Newbies Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) I am trying to complete a form that teachers can use to complete their lesson plans. Our state has performance indicators (numbers) which correlate with a specific objective (text). I need to have FileMaker Pro select the appropriate objective when the teacher selects the performance indicator from a pop-up or drop down menu. I also need for teachers to enter the date for Monday and have FMP enter the dates for the next 4 days. I'm confused about how to do this---I didn't even know which thread this type of problem should be listed under---conditional formatting, calculations, or scripting. Any tutorial or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Edited August 17, 2007 by Guest
Newbies usermac Posted August 20, 2007 Newbies Posted August 20, 2007 (edited) Please download the file performanceindicatorexample.fp7 and follow these notes: First, visit the performance indicator layout and follow the instruction on the layout. Then, return here, enter a new record, enter a new number ( one that exist in the performance indicator layout ) and here, it will automatically enter the correct corresponding narrative. Change it to see. Then look to see how it is all done. Create two tables. Make the database relationship between the fields “performance indicator number” Be sure to check the layout setup of the two layouts. See that each layout pulls from a specific table. Also, see the fields that I’ve created in each database. They are commented. Look at their options as well. Forgive any errors. I created this on the fly for you. All the best, Brian Ginn performanceindicatorexample.zip Edited August 20, 2007 by Guest I wanted to give the details that are in the sample file.
