"Go to Layout" greyed out on View menu

I'm fairly new to FM so I may well be doing something stupid here

In our FM8 database I'm finding that "Go to Layout" is greyed out on the View menu.

I have full Admin access, and I am able to go into Layout Mode, just not to access the entire list of layouts. On earlier builds of the database I can access it fine.

What could the problem be?

thanks

Andrew

Hi

how many layouts there are in the DB ?

Around 70 or so.....

Can you add scripts ?

If yes, make a new script with only one step:

Go to Layout

and say us what you can see into the box: Specify

I'd say that the layouts have had the "include in layout menu" option de-selected. The menu is empty.

The specify box allows me to choose from all the layouts.

In Browse mode, with the status area showing, do any layouts appear in the layout menu above the little notebook?

The specify box allows me to choose from all the layouts.

So you have "really" Admin access !

While in Layout Mode, go to:

Layouts >> Set Layout Order...

and put a check into all those boxes :

thanks... well, I did exactly that, all of them were unticked. However, even after ticking them and pressing OK, the "Go to Layout" menu is still greyed out....

Hmmm...

There is an opener script ?

And which MENU SET can you see into the: "Set Layout Order" window ?

Ok, you were looking along the right lines. There is a startup script that was hiding the status area. When I altered it to show the status area, I was able to access the layouts.

Thanks for all your help.
