OK OK im a newbie but Ive never seen anything inside FM that says something about portals. Could someone tell me what they are or giveme a web page where I can download an example or see how to make them

A portal is a "table" that displays all the records that are related to the current master record -- each related record appears as a row in the table.

If you are using FMP5, read chapter 8 of the User's Guide.
