Text disappearing from text fields...

Hello,

I'm currently working with a MySQL backend and is trying to use FileMaker's Web Form capabilities as a front end. From FileMaker Pro's interface, I have used the ODBC to connect my FileMaker database to my MySQL tables.

However, when I'm trying to insert text (VARCHAR) data from FileMaker, it blanks out and ends up only inserting a blank (not NULL) into MySQL. Default values set on the MySQL side only take effect if I left that field blank on FileMaker when I create a new record. Default field values set on FileMaker also blanks out upon committing. I could insert fine directly into MySQL via phpMyAdmin. Inserting numerical values from FileMaker also commits fine. It's just text-based stuff from FileMaker...

It doesn't seem like anyone else has had this type of problem before...could I just be overlooking something that is very simple? Advices on how to approach this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

It would appear that the driver that was provided by MySQL (MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51 was what I used) is not supported by FileMaker. Upon installing the Actual ODBC driver, which is supported by FileMaker, the problem disappeared.
