Newbies frank676 Posted September 11, 2007 Newbies Posted September 11, 2007 (edited) I created a script using open URL, to open a folder on a windows server. However, if I connect to the database using open remote, and I then try to call the script to open the folder on the server, Filemaker hangs, searching for the IP address. But if I establish a VPN connection first, and then call the same script, it works fine. Is there a way that I can require Filemaker to test for an active VPN before calling the open URL script to prevent the user's computer from hanging up? Edited September 11, 2007 by Guest
Vaughan Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 "... Filemaker hangs, searching for the IP address" It's probably not hung, just waiting for a timeout to expire. Wait for a minute or two and it should respond. "...Is there a way that I can require Filemaker to test for an active VPN..." I don't think there is a FMP-native way of doing this. It would probably require some OS-level scripting to achieve.
