From 8.02 to 8.04

Featured Replies

Hi!

I tried to upgrade from 8.02 to 8.04 It worked great but the server stoped responding to ODBC. I have found some issues and solutions here on the forum but none of them worked. I tryed reinstalling etc but nothing worked. (I tryed installing 8.02 and then 8.04 patch) Anyone have any ideas???

Regards

Jocke

Not 100% sure, but IIRC there is also a new driver that must be installed. Check the version of the one you have isntalled.

Do I have to use a newer version of sljc in my applications that talkes jdbc? Is that what could have caused the problem??

// Jocke

Drivers, or more accurately the ODBC plugin and JDBC plugin, are on the update CD image IIRC.

I have the Update for 8.04 Server and Web Publishing. There is no xDbc drvers on thoose. What image do you mean? And were do I install them?

On the machine that runs Filemaker Server?

Or in the programs talking ODBC with Filemaker?

Check the FMI web site downloads section to be sure that you got all the parts. The plugin goes on the server and on the workstations as well.

See the Admin Guide for more information.
