Newbie entering records in portal

I am rewriting this so that someone may understand what it is I am trying to do. I am a bowling tournament stats person. I have been asked to store tornaments for at least 150 bowlers. What I am trying to achieve is, when I create a new tournament, I would like all active bowlers only)to show up in the portal to speed up game entry. I would like thier first and last names, as well as the scratch, poa and games to show up in the portal. I think that would be faster that creating a new record in the results form, then selecting the bowler then entering the games.

Does that make more sense.
