Can anyone suggest a way to create a duplicate of a database for training mode? I don't want some new users making changes to the master database.

Always a thorny issue.

The best method is to set up a separate network with FM Server hosting the files. It needs to be separate so that there is no possibility of confusion between the training and production systems.

Probably second best is to use the Developer tool to rename the training files, but this could cause problems if any calculations or imports rely on hard-coded file names (these don;t get renamed).

The best method unfortunately isn't an option for us. The training database will have to run from the same server.

The second method I'm unfamiliar with. Can you break down the steps for me? I'm completely new to FM.
