ODBC data update error - bug? MySQL

Hi, I'm using FMP as a front end for MySQL over ODBC.

It was working fine then it started doing something weird. When I enter data in a field only the first character gets saved to the database. Type in "cat", click out of the field, now it says "c".

It stated doing this when I added a second ODBC source for a second FMP database.

Other connections to the MySQL database work fine - so it's either FMP or the ODBC system.

Any ideas?

Is this a known bug?

Anybody know if there is a log file I can look at?
