Newbies Brianzer Posted December 27, 2007 Newbies Posted December 27, 2007 I am in the construction industry & use FM for estimating & managing all of our projects. I'm interested in being able to draw lines in browse mode on top of an image (Blueprints). Lines need to start & stop in random locations so using a graph does not meet my needs. Interested in finding a plug-in and willing to pay for it but have not been able to find anything that might present a solution yet. If anybody has any ideas, please share them with me. Thanks,

Newbies Brianzer Posted December 31, 2007 Author Newbies Posted December 31, 2007 Thanks for taking the time Soren, but I need an actual drawing interface very similar to being in layout mode & using the line tool.
Søren Dyhr Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Then try some of this: http://www.briandunning.com/chartmaker/ It originate from an article Dunning made in Advisor January 1999, and utilizes repeating fields ontop of the image, please notice that repeaters today can be cut up, so often is an entire set of data just a relookup away. Obviously are we dealing with very small font sizes. --sd
Newbies Brianzer Posted December 31, 2007 Author Newbies Posted December 31, 2007 I was trying to stay away from data driven lines, but glancing at his gantt chart gave me an idea. Yes you're right, I would need everyting in the smallest font and am I thinking a working area full of tiny transparent sript buttons. My blueprint image would be the background. First button chosen would become a start point & second button chosen would be the end point then the script would fill in all points between. It'll be tricky doing angles & radius lines though. I could end up with multiple layers of buttons & container fields but it has potential. Thanks for the inspiration,
Søren Dyhr Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I would not discard the webviewer yet, since an "n" in the webdings font could freely be allocated via CSS, for the massive circle and similar things can be found in different fonts, only thing to be aware of that it should work regradless of the platform... --sd
