Newbies dvhatch Posted January 25, 2008 Newbies Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) I am running FM server 8 and connecting to it with FM 8.5 with a volume license. The problem began when I reloaded a machine with FM 8.5 but used a single user license. If this machine attached to the server first without any other machines having FM open all was fine. If, however, one of the computers with the volume license was open the single user license got a license conflict warning and would not open. This was easily solved by reloading with the volume license. But now I have someone who wants to access remotely from home and they have their own copy of FM 9 and we are getting the same problem. If there is not a volumed licensed machine on they can connect no problem and the volume licensed machine can start up there after. but not vise versa. I have seen some talk of the file references causing this but I don't understand how that would happen. I do have a copy of the FM 8.5 on the server computer but it is not running. Any help would be appreciated. Edited January 25, 2008 by Guest
Steven H. Blackwell Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Interesting. I have never seen or heard of this type issue. First be sure that the VLA is just that, a VLA. Second, be sure to report this to FileMaker, Inc, customer service. Steven
