Server Admin console not operating

I just installed FMP Server 9 for the first time. It attempts to bring up the admin console screen in my browser and goes thru a few operations and eventually says it can't start the db server, so I never actually get to an admin screen. I've never had a fmp server program before, though I do run lasso 8.5.5. I'm running the latest Leopard. Installation of fmp server has also made lasso no longer function with my older fmp solutions. The userguide gives me no help in troubleshooting. Any suggestions?

FileMaker Server does not run on Leopard. See the information here from the FMI web site on this item.

They have said they expect to release a Leopard version.
