wplate Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I swear it didn't used to be like this. I have a DB with an invoice table that when a customer ID is entered into the customer ID field, the customer's address and other data is looked up from the customer table. I've noticed recently, maybe after one of the 9.0 point releases that this lookup happens even when I duplicate a record. This didn't used to happen. I used to be able to modify the Invoice record to be whatever I wanted that wasn't in the customer table (maybe another name other than the standard purchaser) then later want another invoice just like it and I'd duplicate the invoice and all my customizations would copy. Now when I copy the Invoice record all the customer fields get re-looked up. Drives me insane! Am I right that this is new behavior? Anyone else seeing this?
Søren Dyhr Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 We're talking this command: http://www.filemaker.com/help/Script-Steps57.html ...aren't we? I can't see the behaviour you describe here, how is that done, could you upload a template where it does it?? The only thing I can think of if you have an autoenter with the update function set on the lookup key field to prevent not numbers to show up. Could be Abs(keyField) This will trigger the lookup! --sd
