Can't open file -authentication issue

I am unable to open files that I copied from our server (FMS 7)to my laptop. I get the message "The account name and password you entered does not match those for any Filemaker account".

I have tried using several user names and passwords that work at the office via the server but none work stand-alone on my laptop. Also, the guest account is greyed out. Is there an issue with moving files from the server to a single user machine? Any way to work around this?
