blissland Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hi, this is my second attempt to upload a file into FMP9 Server. My first attempt ended with a successful upload. But my new attempt results in a LONG 'checking file configuration' box, which I eventually close giving up, which results in a spinning blue ball, and then eventually 'one or more of your destination folders doesn't have room or doesn't exist' and that just makes no sense at all. I've tried uploading these files both from my desktop and from the db folder they are supposed to be in and it makes no difference. Sometimes when I try to upload, instead of getting what I got above, i just get a message saying that it can't upload cuz its being used by another user. Well, there's only me, so I don't understand that. Why can't this just be click click click?
Steven H. Blackwell Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 First be sure that you have the latest updaters for Server installed. Second, be sure the file is completely closed before uploading it. THird, don't use this feature if it isn't working reliably. Check to see what's going on with your server. You can't overwrite an existing file on server if it's open. Steven
Newbies Bill Pickle Posted March 12, 2009 Newbies Posted March 12, 2009 Can't upload database to Filemaker Server Hello, I know this is an older post but... Having experienced the exact same issue with FM Server 10. I was able to resolve it, in the short term, with either of 2 methods. Depending on your server admin experience... 1. A restart of the system hosting FM server. 2. Restart the Filemaker Server Service. Unsure what caused the problem, so far it seems to happen, overnite, while a Filemaker Pro client is attached to the server, and the server processes it's backup. These could be coincidence but something to watch for if it has happened to you.
