FM Pro 8.5 as data source in hosted environment

Featured Replies

I think I am barking up the wrong tree here, but I will give it a shot. I have FM Server 8.0 and many clients of FM Pro 8.5. Basically what I am trying to do is to set up an ODBC connection to our mail list database through one of the clients, but the actual file is hosted on the server. I guess I assumed that as long as the client was running the file and I set up the ODBC connection to the client, it would not matter where the file actually resided. I noticed in the "Sharing" settings, I am only given the option to ODBC host a local file and not one I am remotely connected to. Is this correct or am I missing something? I really don't want to drop another $1200 to upgrade my server to advanced.

Thanks.
