ggh Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 This is a really basic question. Sorry. I'm setting up a new database that will be web published. There will be over 300 users who need to be restricted on a record level. Is there a quick way to set up these accounts and limit access?
Fenton Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Look at the Accounts script steps. You just need to feed it the Account Names and passwords (from records?) with some kind of Loop. The Privilege Set must be chosen from existing sets; but it sounds like they'd all get the same one, so that makes it simpler.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Yes, this is very straightforward. I made about 1000 Accounts in a minute or so for a Developer Conference 3 demo sometime before FileMaker Pro 7 came out. Just be sure to trap for and handle errors, the most likely of which is duplicate Account Names. Steven
