EVENT: [big][color:red]Presenter: John Sindelar[/big]

Topic: Building with Modification in Mind.

It always seems that once solutions mature, the "cost" of making major changes goes up, and the pace of change, naturally, slows down. John will be demonstrating some techniques to keep solutions nimble so major changes get less expensive, and can actually get done. We'll take a look a case studies from several recent projects where we've had to undertake major changes to the way a solution was structured: things like introducing new tables, and switching from one-to-many into many-to-many relationships. And we'll try out some development practices which can make these changes easier and less disruptive. We'll be digging into these solutions to see the scripts and relationships that help, or hinder, our ability to be truly responsive to our clients' requests for changes.

John Sindelar has developed in FileMaker for more than 10 years and is the owner of SeedCode, authors and publishers of elegant FileMaker Pro templates, including SeedCode Calendar. John received the 2004 FileMaker Excellence Award for Developing Outstanding Technical Resources for the FileMaker Pro Community.
