I have a client who wants to be able to type into a field that uses a pop-up value list. She does not want to click on a button to get to "add a new value" to the list, she simply wants to type something if it's not in the list and have the new entry automatically added to that value list. I haven't found any function like that. I told her I didn't think it was possible since you need to have a command to add something to a value list. Or...?? Is it possible?

Hello leomark,

Whether it's possible depends on the type of value list.

If the list is defined to display all values from the field (ie the field your user is typing into) then yes, entering a value that's not on the list will automatically add it to the list.

If the list is defined to display custom values then an additional action will be required to modify the custom list.

There are various other ways to set up lists (eg values taken from a field in a separate reference table etc) and the options available for modifying them varies. However hopefully the above gives you a place to start in relation to your current problem. :wink2:
