Seeking advice on security with my FileMaker runtime solution...???

I've got a simple FM runtime solution that uses the Scodigo PHP SmartPill Plugin to make HTTPS post calls to API services like eBay and PayPal. Sometimes the data included can be sensative, like credit card numbers.

The posts go to PayPal's HTTPS servers, but I know I need my own SSL on my web site when dealing with credit card transactions anyway. With FileMaker there isn't a web browser involved. Is this secure?

Any information I can get on this would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure everything is as secure as it can be as far as encrypting sensative data goes.
