Object Attributes

Hi everyone,

A couple of questions. First of all, is there any way to edit a layout object's attributes (eg. width or distance from left of screen) using a calculation/script?

Second, is there anyway to 'freeze' objects, as you can do to cells in microsoft excel? I need fields on the leftmost part of the screen to scroll when the screen scrolls. (eg. i want fields on the left of the screen to do what fields in a header in list view do).

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Yes by clicking on an object and turn on "view object info" ... but often is not just done with one single object, although they can be grouped before the adjustment ... is it much faster to do wordprocessing via:

Provided you're on a mac. But it comes in more flavours mac again first:

...then for windows:

These can be tied to you favorite text/xml editor, where simple find/replaces can produce an entirely different layout by appearance.

To you final question yes objects can both be grouped and locked, as well as being set to resize according to the measures of the window opened.
