Multithreading XML request

Hello,

we are using CWP XML for sending request to a FM8 Server on a Windows Server. Now we have some performace problems with higher user numbers sending queries to the db.

While we're optimizing everything (hardware, reducing layouts, etc) we questioning ourself how the WPE handles CWP XML request. Does it process all XML request on a one by one method in a serial way or can it process multiple requests at the same time. Are there differences when sending request to different layouts, tables or files for multithreading request?

I hope someone can bring up some infos on how the WPE process multiple incoming request.

Thanks in advance.

We split up the DB and WPE on two different machines. The server running the WPE has 4 GB RAM. I dont know about the cache settings yet.

But were looking for more detail information about how the WPE works. We thought about cloning critical layouts or tables if there is a limit on multithreading request regarding the layout / table layer.

For example if the WPE can handle only one XML request on a layout at a time then we would double the layout to increase performance. The same goes for table.

But were looking for more detail information about how the WPE works.

See the two Web Publishing manuals that come with the product?
