Hi

I have been breaking my head to export my repetetive fields into excel. Every time I export to excel, it copies all the repetetive fields into one cell. I have tried sub summary and page break. I am not sure if I have gone wrong somewhere. Could any of you guide me through this. Many thanks in advance.

Hi

you haven't to have a DB with repeating fields holding data.

BTW:

1) Make a new FileMaker file with only those fields that you have to export to Excel ( no repeating fields )

2) Import into the new file from your DB and choose "Import values in repeating fields by splitting them into separate records"

3) Export to Excel from this new file

Thank You Danielle for your reply. I have tried your solution and created a new DB with only those fields required(without the repeating fields). When I imported the file it did take the fields into the new DB. But, when I tried to get the o/p into an excel file it did not work. It had all the repeating fields in the same cell(excel sheet) again.

Is there anything I have to do or any other way to resolve this problem. Thanks again for everything.

I said you to put a flag on ""Import values in repeating fields by splitting them into separate records"

The newly created DB can't have repeating fields !
