Exporting the most recent record only

Hello,

I have 2 tables: contacts and donations.

Any one contact can have made a number of donations.

I would like a way to export (to excel) a record for each contact that only shows the info from the most recently added donation entry, i.e. the first portal row.

How can I do this? I thought it would be simple but I cannot find an easy way. Please advise.
