Sub-summary breaking across page

Featured Replies

Hello out there. I have been having trouble with parts breaking across pages. The "Allow part to break across page boundaries" option is NOT checked in both the Body part and the associated sub-summary. The text in any body and any one sub-summary easily fits on one page. However, when there are multiple groups, the bottom part will sometimes break onto the next page. If it cannot fit fully, I want it to start on a new page. I tried to make sure that no field was touching a part boundary. Any other suggestions to avoid parts breaking across a page?

Thank you in advance,

It depends on what you mean by break...

Say you have a sub-summary report listing countries and cities...

Australia

- Adelaide

- Canberra

- Sydney

- Wooloomooloo

Germany

- Berlin

- Bonn

- Hamberg

We need to differentiate between a "part" and a "group". A group would be a country and its cities. There is no way to prevent a page break inside a group...

Australia

- Adelaide

- Canberra

##### page break #####

- Sydney

- Wooloomooloo

What the option does is stop a part from breaking across a page; and in our report, the parts would be the sub-summary part that contains the Country field, and the part that contains the city field. It's only really useful if the parts are large, more than one line deep.
