I just purchased a zip code+4 database that I want to import into our FileMaker solution. The file has 50 million records, but unfortunately, the import bombs out at 2.9 million records. I am using this file as a lookup table, which will certainly have speed issues with this many records.

Has anyone else seen some kind of import limitation? I think the file will be approaching 9 GB when fully imported.

I am sure this won't work, but just curious from what others have to say.

For what its worth, I had to use a Perl script to break up the import file into 9 smaller files. FileMaker was able to handle this ok, but it collectively took a week and a half to do the import and index it. To my amazement, it is actually quite fast when performing searches.
