Image import based on matching field and file names

I hope a Filemaker guru can help with this.

I am running FMPro 9.0v3 on OS X 10.4.11

I have a flat table with text fields and a container to store a reference to a PDF file. I have a folder of PDF files that I want to import into the container field (references, not the file).

The PDF files need to be imported to specific records already in the table. The field data from each record was used to name the PDF files (i.e., "Field1_Field2_Field3_Field4.pdf").

Not every record has an associated PDF so I can't do a batch import from folder based on a similar sort.

The records that DO have PDFs associated with them are not tagged.

Can I import these PDFs into their matching records using the file names as identifiers?

I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance.
