Geeksharka Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Hi all, We're trying to open up the admin console in FMS9, newly installed on a new G5 tower. OSX, 10.5.5 2x3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 4GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM Each time we get a error message, with a cryptic message: Error: Unexpected exception: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException And that's it. Nothing else to help us along. Any ideas?
Vaughan Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 What version FMS 9? Does it have the Leopard patch?
Geeksharka Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 It's FMS 9.0v3 I will go look for patches, and apply accordingly. Hopefully that's it.
Geeksharka Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 OK -- got a step further. Now it says: The Database Server is not available. to edit server deployment, please start the database servers first. (CANCEL) (RESTART) And... since I can't seem to get into the console, not sure how to 'start the database servers first'? -- Tried RESTART. Nothing satisfactory down that path either. More error messages.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Start the FMS daemon wrapper from the Terminal. sudo launchctl start com.filemaker.fms use of sudo requires authentication. HTH Steven
