Image Browser

I was searching through the forum and I found information on importing images and manage them with sys path and such. I do wonder how easy it would be to create a browsable folder library that displays in one layout all the photos of the folder and being able to insert in a container field in a different layout or simply drag and drop. Similar to any iPhoto library.
