teh_kok_keong Posted April 11, 2001 Posted April 11, 2001 I have one filemaker pro5.0 database running in a windows 2000 environment, may i know how can i set my computer or the filemaker pro so that other computer in my intranet can open the database in my computer.
BruceJ Posted April 11, 2001 Posted April 11, 2001 Others wont actually "open" you file the way you would browse the network and open a word document, Instead you set the file as a multiuser in the document prefences of each file along with the network protocol. Close and re-open the files, leave open. Others can open their verison of file maker, go to "open file", choose host. if the fies dont automatically appear in the box, you'll need to specify the host by manually typing the IP address or host name. For the "guests" you may want to create aadummy fiel that does all this in a start up script. This was real basic, so I hope that you problem was as simple as I thought it was.
