Query Builder duplicates Table Aliases

I am using ODBC connection to a Universe database and all is going (reasonably) well.

However the FMP SQL Query builder is giving me grief. It is automatically creating table aliases and it then sometimes uses the same alias in the one select statement for two different tables (ie where a join relationship occurs).

Is this a result of the FMP Query builder or the Universe ODBC driver ?

Can this be turned off ?

I am new to SQL queries so the builder is otherwise very useful.
