KALNOTE automatic email messaging system

Retriever Technology announces the release and immediate availability of the KALNOTE automatic email messaging system for FILEMAKER database users.

KALNOTE is an off-the-shelf WINDOWS back-office messaging product that works automatically with existing local or remote FILEMAKER databases thereby cutting out all the manual work involved in extracting information to send out timely reminder messages. It can be applied as a part of any recall reminder renewal or to-do list system.

Database access is read-only through an ODBC link to a running FILEMAKER application or server. Automatic data scans occur at regular intervals to filter records using rules based upon one or more FILEMAKER fields. Such rules can incorporate anniversary, due or target dates, numerical values and alphanumeric fields.

Recipient email addresses included in the data records can be used to collect and group information from those records as part of the email message for each recipient. Thus an email reminder can include information about the item which is the subject of the reminder or a list of items with relevant information. For example an equipment servicing reminder list could include the serial number, cost, date of last service and next service due date for each item due in the coming month.

Copies of all emails can be directed to 3 supervisors.

Use of an external SMTP server ensures that the whole operation is silent and automatic - no user interaction is required apart from setting up the scans and rules in the first place. All transactions are logged and copies of all attachments stored.
