Can I change the speed when typing a dropdown list?

I have a dropdown list with a value list from another table. If I type fast I can type several characters for choosing a value. But if i type slowly it jumps up and down for the first character only.

Sorry little hard to explain, but can I change anywhere so I can type slower?
