- manipulate, find, sort and print data

- save data in other formats as well as importing and exporting data

- define fields, identify and understand different FileMaker Pro field types

- create a Database Design Report therefore understanding where and how fields are used in your database solution.

DEVELOPMENT PRIMER FOR FILEMAKER PRO 9

This two day course is designed for anyone who has used FileMaker Pro to create simple database systems for their own use, and now want to develop more sophisticated solutions for their organization.

By the end of the course, you will understand:

- data modeling and how to create an entity relationship diagram (ERD)

- all types of relationships within FileMaker and create portal work

- most of the common calculations and their functionality

- Scripting using FileMaker Pro to automate tasks

- how to use the Script Debugger and Data Viewer to troubleshoot,

- error trapping routines and how to use script parameters, results, and variables.

INTERMEDIATE FILEMAKER PRO 9 DEVELOPING AND REPORTING

This is an intensive two-day class, designed specifically for experienced developers looking to create complex and sophisticated database applications.

By the end of the course, you will know how to:

- create and modify layouts using a variety of tools,

- use value lists to simplify data entry

- creating relational associations and display web pages using web viewer objects

- create different reports such as sub-summary reports and crosstab reports

- understand portal sorting, more advanced scripting techniques and implement custom menus

- create user records and store preferences in a user table.
