March 19, 200916 yr Hello, Hoping to get some feedback on a project we're working on. My company is currently building a Filemaker application for our own business use. We would like to eventually offer this program to other businesses, but would like to do it without having to sell Filemaker Licenses. Is it possible to create a Filemaker Application, host it using Filemaker Server Advanced, and then use a flex application downloaded by our customers to access the Filemaker Server database? Hope this makes sense. Any assistance will be appreciated! Regards, David
March 20, 200916 yr This depends on the capability of the Flex application to utilize one of the protocols that FileMAker Server 10 Advanced supports: XML, ODBC, or JDBC. There are some limitations for each. Read up on the connectivity options in the Server documentation. Also, despite your protestation about FileMaker Pro, you might look into the Software Bundle Agreement that FMI offers. If you need assistance contacting them, please let me know, Steven
