INTRODUCTION TO FILEMAKER PRO 10

This course is perfect for people new to FileMaker Pro 10 that want to learn the fundamental skills required to create and maintain databases.

You will learn how to:

– open, close, share, and create FileMaker Pro files

– how to use and customize the new status toolbar

– how to use the quick start screen

– manipulate, find, sort, print and preview data

– save data in other formats as well as importing and exporting data

– define fields, identify and understand FileMaker Pro field types

– understand and specify field auto-entry, validation, and storage/indexing option

– create, add and export data within a container field

– create a Database Design Report therefore understanding where and how fields are used in your solution.

DEVELOPMENT PRIMER FOR FILEMAKER PRO 10

This two day course is designed for people who have previously used FileMaker Pro to create some simple databases for their own use, and now want to develop more sophisticated solutions for their organization.

You will learn about:

– data modeling and creating an entity relationship diagram (ERD)

– the different types of relationships and how to create portals

– creating custom layouts for entering data

– manipulating layout objects

– the use of common calculation functions

– the scripting environment in FileMaker Pro

– creating scripts to automate tasks

– how to work with Script Triggers and enhance user experience

– the Script Debugger, Data Viewer and how to troubleshoot scripts

– adding error-trapping routines to scripts

ADVANCED FILEMAKER PRO 10 DEVELOPING AND REPORTING

This is an intensive two-day class, designed specifically for experienced developers looking to create complex and sophisticated database applications.

You will learn how to:

– fine-tune your layouts using a variety of tools

– use value lists to simplify data entry

– display Web pages using Web viewer objects

– use script parameters, script results and script variables

– create custom functions and crosstab reports

– implement advanced portal techniques

– advanced scripting techniques

– implement custom menus
