I have performed searches on this issue within the forums and cannot seem to find any recent discussion on whether FileMaker began supporting this prior to the release of FMS 10. I have also reviewed the FM site in an attempt to find tech specs on FMS 9.

Did FM ever begin supporting FMS 9 on Windows 2008?

No it did not. Nor did it support it on any 64 bit OS.

FileMaker Server 10 will run on the 64 bit version of Windows Server 2008; however it runs in 32 bit mode and you have to tweak the ISAPI filters.
